In Bethesda, nurseries are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Maryland, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Check the listing for hours, seasonal closures and Google rating before you go.

Bethesda is in Maryland, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Bethesda is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Maryland's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Five stars for relative ease of communication and accessibility. I've had to go to Ellicott City the last time to obtain native plants. I was close to buying from American Plant Center, but heard back from Marianna and was so relieved. Her prices were more reasonable and she had a larger selection of straight species. Wildflower NP Nursery is a tidy well organized business Marianna has set up behind her house. The plants come in quart and gallon sized containers. I typically buy plugs, but for my purposes now, I am so happy to find such healthy, larger plants that will more likely survive. I highly recommend this native nursery and Marianna for her knowledge.

My wife and I visited Wildflower Native Plant Nursery just to check it out. We had a very enjoyable and informative visit with Mariana. She gave us all the time we needed and answered our many questions. We ended up leaving with a bunch of healthy plants, reasonably priced, and valuable tips about how to grow our garden. The plants are all thriving. We are delighted and I am sure we’ll visit again. Highly recommend!

I live in Northern Virginia, near the Potomac River and was thrilled to find a nursery that had the wide variety of native plants that I was used to seeing in the woods around our home as a child. My order arrived in good condition in today's mail. I have planted them all in areas similar to where I remember them growing long ago. I really appreciate Wildflower Native Plant Nursery shipping my order in the correct season for planting. I have high hopes for a beautiful spring!

I have had nothing but great experiences buying native plants from Marianna. She has a great selection and is able to order anything if she doesn't happen to have it (she was able to order me a Chionanthus virginicus, which I wasn't able to find or order at my local nursery). She is very knowledgeable and helpful! I highly recommend visiting her nursery. She does require an appointment, but is very flexible.

Wonderful experience buying from this native plant nursery. I happened to be in the area and saw this nursery on Google Maps. The owner picked up the phone right away and was able to see me as soon as I could drive over. She took plenty of time to educate me on native plants and helped me select the right ones for my backyard plant bed. It has been so disappointing to go to highly rated plant nurseries in DC, VA, and MD only to find non-native plants. Thank god someone decided to do it right and provide this service for consumers who want to do the right thing (and have a lower maintenance garden as a result!) I can’t wait to go back. I have so many more planters I want to fill!!!
